Over the past year, Zack and I have been meeting with people to partner with us on our call to serve in the Czech Republic. Family, friends, former co-workers, high school friends, those we’ve served with in the mission field on past short term trips, Facebook acquaintances, and more! Sometimes we’ve Skyped with people in California and even in South Korea, each time sharing the story of how God has called us and offering an opportunity to partner with us in ministry. We’ve caught up with friends and former co-workers, even Zack’s band-mates from Redmark! The very first couple we met with has earned a special place in heaven as we kind of blundered through our story and realized that we needed to be a bit more articulate.
We’ve met with church boards, missions boards, and pastors over the past two years and have now formed partnerships with both Cole Community Church and Eastwind Community Church. We’ve received generous financial support for our outgoing expenses from both supporting churches, as well as Faith Community Bible Church and Stonehill Church, and have meetings this week with another missions committee. We are thrilled to have the support and cooperation from so many churches as we work together to fulfill the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:16-20)
Each meeting is a chance to share our testimony of how God has been leading us…
We started with our Senders Team, those who have known about our journey since it started in 2012 with Zack’s first trip with Rescued to the Czech Republic, who have been praying for us and who are committed to lend logistic support and LOTS and LOTS of prayer. We’ve been meeting with them monthly to share our updates, brainstorm together, and pray together.
Each meeting is a chance to share testimony of how God has been leading us, working in our lives, and in the lives of those we’ve been able to interact with in the Czech Republic.
A LOT of time goes into contacting people, setting up appointments and meeting with individuals and couples, each time asking for prayer, and yes… asking for financial support. We’ve listened to The God Ask multiple times on audiobook, and re-listen often as the author guides us through key passages of scripture, encouraging us whenever we get discouraged.
Each time we gain a new partner, it is exciting and special. I think, THESE will be the people praying for us, rooting for us, interceding for us and our Czech friends when things get hard, laughing with us when we make a cultural blunder, and perhaps even crying with us as we struggle to do ministry together in the midst of our own brokenness and the broken lives of those around us. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for each one…
