It seems only fitting that the follow-up entry to our “Journey Of A Thousand Miles” would be titled “Travel Partners”. Our previous post ended with our focus shifting to partner development and we’ve been learning quite a lot of what that means by reading (multiple times) though Steve Shadrach’s book titled, “The God Ask: A Fresh, Biblical Approach to Personal Support Raising”.
We know there is simply no way we can do this alone. And fortunately for us, according Ecclesiastes and many other passages throughout scripture, we are reminded that we don’t have to. In fact, we’re not supposed to! That’s why the Lord has designed it such that there are three essential persons involved in this kingdom-building endeavor He’s called us to.
Ecclesiastes 4:9 reads:
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Many of us have heard this passage, but it’s a good reminder that “two are better than one”, as stated in verse 9. King Solomon goes on to say in verse 12 that if two are good, three are even better. “A cord of three strands is not quickly broken”. As we move forward on this journey, having the right travel partners means being intertwined not only with God Himself, but all of our remarkable ministry partners as well. If we choose to forever entwine ourselves with God and those partners embarking with us, our “rope” will be so strong and so lasting!
…the Lord has designed it such that there are three essential persons involved in this kingdom-building endeavor He’s called us to.
On Sunday, March 18th Melodie and I were commissioned at Cole Community Church where we were re-introduced to the congregation as Global Workers. Later in the week on Wednesday night, March 21st, we had the opportunity to share our full story to those that attended our Vision Launch Dessert Evening. We raised over $1,100.00 to go towards outgoing expenses through our silent auction (thank you ALL who donated and helped prepare the items and baskets) in addition to welcoming others to our monthly support team through financial and prayer support.
Through these recent events, one-on-one appointments and many other opportunities yet to come, we are sharing the call God has placed on our hearts & lives and watching as He provides in abundant ways!
If you think you might like to become a travel partner in this ministry alongside us, there are many ways to join the journey!
